Why do we enjoy pain? The most basic question of them all. Why do we relish in reddened limbs leaking life? Why do we collect sharp tools to use on impulse?
Why can’t we see food as food, supplying nutrition and maintaining health? Why does it have to be the bane of our existence? Why do we assume calories have emotion, a personal vendetta against our bodies?
Why are we unable to convince ourselves to keep down an apple or even coffee? Why must we relieve our bodies from what we consider to be useless, selfish, unnecessary consumption? Why must we delve in destroying and mutilating ourselves and yet we deny to others that we’re doing such? Why can’t we rationalize, realize what we’re doing to others by doing this to ourselves? Why must we isolate and remove ourselves from social stimulation and enjoyment? Why must we strive for five pounds more after each sick goal is met? Why must we console ourselves with putdowns and seclusion and delusion? Why are we opposite, irregular, obscure and deranged compared to the average person? Because we don’t want to be average, we want to be uncommon and we define that with twisted obsessions and preoccupations. We want perfection and control. We want to achieve something unachievable. Death isn’t a feat so why do we consider one?

That was too close of a call.

I’ve never gone this far.
